Three Best Instant Messengers

Here are the top three Instant Messengers you can find! I personally love Digsby since it unites classical Instant Messenger, eMail Notification and Social Communities.

Digsby (Windows)
It’s the youngest application by far. It has incredible features including all your IM networks as well as social networking (Facebok, MySpace and Twitter included). The userinterface is clean and easy devided into IM + Email + Social Networking. It supports Windows, Linux and Apple.

Pidgin (Windows/Linux)
Pidgin is open source IM client and has a huge community much like Firefox and others. It is open and extensible, meaning you can add your own improved functionality and tools to Pidgin by simply installing a plug-in. It supports all IM networks including IRC Chats.

I personally love this application but have switched to Digsby because I love the eMail and social network support.

You can download Third-Party-Plugins here!

Meebo (Web)
No Matter where you are and what operation system you are running, as long as you’ve got a web browser you can chat with ur friends from anywhere in the world using Meebo’s great web-based chat.

It supports all popular chat networks, video and voice chat and even an iPhone interface.

If you know any other Instant Messenger you think that are great, please comment.

Pidgin + Portable (All-round Messenger)

Today I wanna tell you guys about the best, free and most powerful messenger on earth!

What is Pidgin?

Pidgin is a multi-protocol Instant Messaging client that allows you to use all of your IM accounts at once. - Thats what Pidgin.im says :)

Pidgin can work with AIM, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, Groupwise, ICQ, IRC, MSN, MySpaceIM, QQ, SILC, SIMPLE, Sametime, XMPP, Yahoo!, Zephyr! Uhhh that’s a list :)

Why using Pidgin instead of any other IM?

First of all, it is updated on a regularly basis. Recently Pidgin 2.2.0 has been released with many improvements from their Google Summer of Code students and a pile of bug fixes! Check their ChangeLog!

On of the biggest changes is that Pidgin now supports MySpaceIM !
It supports all important Messaging protocols. Furthermore it is free software and can be downloaded here!

Myself I’m using Pidgin Portable from Portableapps.com as I’m travelling a lot and I don’t want to install it on any local computer. Best way, get yourself a USB Stick or simply use it on your iPod, works great!

My favorite feature is the ability to chat with friends on MSN Messenger, talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger, and sitting in an IRC channel all at the same time.
